The two large oak bears shown below were carved from logs from the same huge old oak tree! These were completed in the fall of 2008 and were my largest projects so far! The first bear shown is in my front yard. He is 7 and a half feet tall. But now I have a new challenge.


My big oak bear will have friends in the spring. I recently received my newest HUGE oak logs. The shorter and wider one is 6 ft tall and almost 4 ft across. The taller one in the back is 10 ft tall. They make my bear look small. As for now I think the wider one will be a moose and the taller one will be a collection with an eagle on top and I haven't yet decided what will be below, but ideas are being developed!

I hope to start these in the spring when it starts warming up.
